Primary Research

Here I created a survey for others in my class to ask what they would prefer in my timelapse. Many people have said they would like to see the road or trains in my timelapse but many more have said they would like to see people in my video. Almost all people have said they would like me to add music in the video. Most of the people who I have asked said they would prefer to have chill music and one would prefer drum and bass in my timelapse. One person has said my timelapse should be 1 or 2 minutes long. 2 has said it should be 4 minutes long and 3 people has said it should be 3 or over 5 minutes long. Most people in my class have said that their age is between 18 to 21.

These are pictures of when I did a workshop with my class of using different lighting techniques to make the lighting look great on camera. We used different colour tones and light temperatures such as warm lighting and cool light. The blue light that is on the wall is to mimic daylight from a window with blinds.
Here is a sizzle reel of my camera shots I have filmed for research. I filmed these.

I am creating this film for my client who is BFI. BFI stands for British Film Institute where every year, they run a film festival where creators can showcase their skills and receive cash prizes. They are based in Southbank in London. The film submitted can be of any genre and must be under 10 minutes in end which I will trim my production to under 10 minutes.
Secondary Research
For my secondary research, I looked at different videos that are related to transport and timelapse to get inspiration.

The first video I looked at was a clip from a movie called 'Koyaanisqatsi'. It was filmed in 1982. The word Koyaanisqatsi means 'life out of balance'. The film is about a technology driven world vs the environment. This was filmed in the United States and this clip is of a highway in Los Angeles. Some clips were filmed during the day and some was filmed at night. The camera work was filmed in a long shot and static. The video was sped up during editing and it cuts to different scenes. The soundtrack was produced by Phillip Glass. I chose this video because the video is based both on transport and on timelapse videos. I would like to base my FMP on transport and timelapse videos.

The second video I looked at is called 'Highway Time Lapse 4K 2021'. This video was filmed in Tokyo and all the clips were shot during the night. The camera work was long shot and some of the clips were dynamic and some were static. Some had the camera slowly tilt during the timelapse and some shots were even filmed using a drone and some shots were filmed inside of a car by a GoPro. The video was sped up during editing with added motion blur. The video cuts to different scenes. The soundtrack used was rap music. The reason why I chose this video is due to the wide variety of different shots and camera angles. I also like how the video starts and would like to make a similar intro in my production.
This video was filmed on a Los Angeles freeway and some of the shots were filmed during the day. The camera work was filmed in a Long Shot and the Camera remained Static. The video has been sped up during editing with added motion blur. The soundtrack used was by a youtube channel called Epidemic Sound. I like how different angles were used in this video and would like to shoot in different angles for my production.
The video was filmed in various locations through the US and it was mainly filmed during the daytime. The camera work used in this video was a long shot and the camera was dynamic. The video was sped up during editing and it cuts to different scenes. The soundtrack used was some orchestral music. This video uses motion blur which makes the video look more professional and I would like to add motion blur for the timelapse clips of my project.
