Train station

These are shots which I filmed at Newbury Park tube station at 18 April 2023. I went to a bridge where you can see trains.

London City Airport

19 April 2023

These are shots which I filmed at London City Airport at 19 April 2023. The trouble is that the bridge which I filmed at was shaking each time a vehicle passed by. This has resulted in the footage being shaky. I filmed this as it was approaching sunset. The full video of my filming process this is down below where you can see the shaky footage.

I filmed these shots on my way to the bridge and spotted a long line of taxis. I also filmed this as taxis is another form of transportation which is what my project is based on. I put the camera down and filmed taxis moving for 5 minutes.

London Stansted Airport

22 April 2023

I researched the best location to film in London Stansted Airport and the best spot was a spot just outside of the airport. When I arrived to the spot I was able to see the runway and see planes arrive and depart. I looked for the highest point to set my tripod as there were gates around the airport which would get in the way of my filming. I found the best spot and started filming. I feel as if my shots were a lot more professional than when I filmed at London City Airport because my shots were not shaky and I also researched the best spot to film before going to the airport instead of just arriving to the airport and looking for the location myself. I filmed a lot of planes and I then went to a different spot where you can see planes land overhead and I also filmed in that location.

Cable Cars & Trams

29 April 2023

I went to the Royal Victoria to film a timelapse of the cable cars in London. When I arrived to this location I saw the cable cars and filmed at that spot. I set up my tripod and filmed for about 6 minutes. When I stopped the recording I then walked to a different spot closer to the cable cars and filmed from a different angle. I filmed there for a few minutes, then went to the other side of the cable cars to film from a different angle so I get 3 different angles of the cable cars.

I then decided to go to Croydon to film trams, as this was the closest location in which trams operate. As I travelled to the destination as I was using the DLR, I took this opportunity to film DLR trains. I then made my way to Croydon in South London to film the trams. When I arrived in Croydon I looked for the best spot to film and found a suitable spot where trams passed and set up my tripod. I filmed the trams passing and stopping and I also captured buses in the shot. I then went to a different spot to film the trams and found a better spot to film in East Croydon. I filmed in various locations in order to get various angled shots.

Westminister Bridge

20 May 2023

I went to Westminister bridge as it is a good spot to film boats sail across the Thames. The weather conditions while filming were nice and sunny although it got a bit windy. I set my camera and tripod up on Westminister bridge to record videos for several minutes and recorded them in various angles. I then filmed on the other side of the bridge and filmed the road on the bridge including buses, cars and taxis. I also filmed a few b-roll shots of the area to put in between the timelapse including the London Eye, Flags, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliment. I also filmed the River Thames from a different perspective from the Embankment to also get a better shot with the London Eye in the background.

Overground trains and cycles

31 May 2023

I went to film the last few shots of my video. I started in Stratford Olympic Park as it is a great spot to film trains going past. The weather was sunny. As I arrived there were stairs which led up to a bridge where I went up and got the best view of the train tracks. I filmed this using my gimbal and got good shots of both Overground trains and DLR trains. As I headed back to Stratford station I spotted numerous buses and took the opportunity to film buses passing by. I researched previously the busiest cycling route in London which is the route from Southwark to Farringdon. I then made my way to Farringdon in Central London to film cyclists. On my journey there I decided to get shots of tube trains at the underground station at Mile End. When I arrived at Farringdon, I began to film cyclists passing by on the bike lane. I then spotted a bridge which I went up the stairs so I could get a better view of the cyclists on the road below including other vehicles such as cars and buses. I filmed a few b-roll shots of the surrounding area.
